Google Mobile Push Confirmed

You may have already heard the news this morning that Google has succumbed to mobile and is on the bandwagon so to speak. Recently, three executives at Google confirmed what we have known all along…

The 3 Google execs are:

  1. Rikard Steiber (global marketing director – mobile and social advertising)
  2. Rich Miner (GP at Google Ventures)
  3. Francisco Varela (YouTube global director of platform partnerships)

mobile-advertising-revenueThey said that most Google users will access their search engine via mobile over desktop by next year. If you attenuated the mobile summit in San Fransisco this may already be old news to you.

The search engine behemoth is now saying it is a mobile 1st company and in the year 2013 they believe that mobile devices will be the main way folks use to find the things they are looking for. This comes to no surprise as searches via mobile have increased over 200% in the past two yrs. In Korea, it has already surpassed the 50% mark.

Even YouTube will have more traffic coming its way via mobile and this is expected to increase way over 350% in the next 2 years easy.

However, since mobile has been a tricky sector to monetize the Google team is worried that the ad revenue via mobile will not be as much as it is within the desktop mode thus their revenue growth may not be as substantial.

So what does this mean? For one, ALL local businesses need to get up to date and take advantage of mobile websites and take advantage of all the mobile enhances social sites too. Can’t express this enough, all business that count on customers NEED a mobile website presence, even if it is simple like a coupon with a phone number and location maps.

Folks are already searching for you, will they find your non-mobilized website and become frustrated or will they find your competitors mobile website and use them instead? Think about it… makes sense to go mobile right now doesn’t it?

Crucial Tips to Mobile Marketing Success

Crucial tips to mobile marketing success

mobile-website-development-300x300Whether you’re new to mobile marketing or not, you probably know that any type of advertising or marketing on mobile devices is going to be huge even though right now it’s a bit stagnant and that dusty old website of your is just fine… so you think!

There are a bunch of ways to get involved with a mobile marketing campaign that involves mobile websites and mobile apps and mobile coupons. And that’s just the beginning, as mobile advertising is really starting to pick up steam.

Let’s first look at the obvious. There are more mobile phones that are smart phones being purchased now and in the potential future then there has ever been. What that means is that pretty much everyone who has a cell phone will be able to access the Internet on demand. Which also means that they can be advertised to and marketed to on demand.

Mobile Marketing Platforms:

SMS Text Message Marketing
sms-text-marketing Text message marketing has become popular because it is more instantaneous than e-mail. And the fact that text messages have a 98% open rate is astonishing. These are also known as “push notifications”.

You need to get a customer’s phone number before you can send them any type of text message. The key here is not to go crazy and overdo it, or they will lock you from texting them anymore. This is probably one of the most profitable ways to make money in mobile and also one of the ways to really burn out your customer base if you don’t know what you’re doing.

There are many companies that will let you run a SMS campaign, some have all the bells and whistles and others are very simplistic so it really depends on what type of business you’re in what type of coupons you will be offering. Here is one to get you started…

Twitter SMS

Mobile Websites
you will need to use a mobile website builder or generator to create any mobilized version of your desktop website, because most likely your website does not look good on a mobile phone. You should already know whether it does or not, and if it does not and you need to check this out…

A mobile website is designed to do one thing, generate a lead. Most people looking for things on their smart phone have a very short attention span so you want to make sure you capture them right away. Make them create an action. This can be providing you with their e-mail address, mobile phone number, and of course their name. This way you generate their lead in you have them in your customer base for further marketing opportunities.

One very important thing is speed of your mobile website – the smaller the image size – the faster it loads, here is a free .png image shrinker for all your images on your mobile website: http://tinypng.org

To properly generate a lead, you need to give them something in return. Most of the time a really good coupon or discount will get the job done. And of course you must provide all the information on your mobile website so they can contact you right away. A phone number needs to be obviously visible as well as a geolocation map. Also having some positive reviews about your company will help as well, so think about that.

mobile-webiste-builderThere are many ways to get your customers involved in your mobile marketing campaigns writing your store. Have a QR code or “text this number to” in plain sight in your store or near the cash register. This way you can have your employees do a soft sell while at the same time acquiring and retaining more customers. This can be in a form of doing an online survey, or entering some type of sweepstakes, as well as a coupon for the next visit. Feel free to use our QR Code Generator for free.

There are two different kinds of mobile websites, one is a standalone separate website designed especially for mobile devices and another is a traditional website that shrinks and conforms to all different screen sizes whether it be on an iPad or an iPhone. The website you are reading this post on uses a responsive theme. If you look at it on a mobile tablet or smart phone you will see that it is the full site in its entirety only conformed to fit your device. And as you can also see, it does have limitations as there is a lot of content to sift through.

That is why you need to run a mobile marketing campaign on both platforms depending on your customer base.

If you’re looking for a mobile website builder that will handle all your mobile marketing needs, then go ahead and check out this company, http://www.dudamobile.com.

Mobile Applications
there are many type of mobile applications available and pretty much all of them can be used to make me. Have you played angry birds lately? It’s a really fun game that only costs $.99, but they have sold over 100 million downloads are probably even more than that and it’s a train that keeps on chugging.

However most business owners are not interested in creating the next angry birds, but want to use a mobile application in their business and into their own marketing funnel. This is where things can get a little bit tricky because developing and creating a mobile app can be expensive and could also be a waste of time.

Ask yourself, will any of my potential customers or current customers actually download our company application onto their phone and use it? Will they use it?? Depending on what it is you have to look at it from that point of view. If you own a local restaurant that has a lot of online social activity then yes a mobile application would be in your best interest as you can send push notifications for certain type of deals and whatnot.

Mobile apps are best served for local businesses who have a continuous stream of new and current customer’s. If you are a foot doctor or podiatrist than having your own mobile application is probably not the best fit. I hope this makes sense, as a mobile website would be a lot more beneficial to that podiatrist then a mobile app. Because a mobile website shows up in search engine results and mobile apps do not. The one thing that a mobile app can do that a mobile website cannot do is send push notifications or text messages however sending an e-mail is the next best thing.

The best Mobile APP building program: http://seattleclouds.comincludes SMS marketing software, mobile website builder, and mobile coupon generator.

As you can see there are many ways to get your customers involved in mobile. This is a fast-growing sales funnel that every business needs to pay attention to and make use of. Don’t believe the news when they talk about companies not knowing how to make proper use of advertising in mobile and all that other baloney, because it is just that, baloney.

Don’t worry, we will keep you up-to-date on all of this so make sure you bookmark this site and check back frequently.

Why is Mobile Media Marketing So Popular?

Why is Mobile Media Marketing So Popular?

mobile-media-marketing The real question you should be asking yourself is when will mobile media marketing be popular? Oh, it is popular right now but not as near as it will be in a few years.

At this moment there is a lot of confusion on how all this works, or if it works. Most of the big businesses and corporations “get it”, but the smaller companies are struggling to understand it and grasp just how powerful it can be.

This is the reason I started this website. I own a small marketing company and find myself baffled at how mobile advertising and marketing is deemed as an afterthought. This website is geared towards the unknown of mobile and will help you understand it better.

Most of the websites out there about mobile marketing are confusing, even to me. So that is why I hope to simplify things for you and give you insight into what works and what may not. There is no doubt mobile media is popular, just reach in your pocket and there it is… a gateway to possibilities ready for the bidding.

There so many different versions of mobile media marketing methods and applications. No two are created equal or the same. Case in point, mobile websites and mobile applications are two very different things and operate on vastly different platforms along with a multitude of advertising opportunities. Even a mobile optimized website can be done a hundred different ways.

Look at our website on a mobile device (iPhone, etc) and you will see that the theme itself fits nicely without going to a different website. What do I mean by that? We will get more in-depth about mobile websites vs responsive themes a bit later on, so stay tuned!

The Force is Coming to Angry Birds

angry-birds-star-wars-qr-codeSo I though I’d take a break from talking about mobile marketing and have a little fun…

I made this Angry Birds Star Wars QR Code using our free online QR Code generator. Feel free to share it at will!

One of my favorite games to play on my iPhone when I need a break form it all is Angry Birds. And now on November 8th the newest installment will be released, Angry Birds Star Wars! Such a Star Wars geek here, so can’t wait for this.

This has really changed the scope of advertising and marketing online. Take a look at their Twitter and Tumblr page, it all about being viral and mobile.

The Most Effective Ways To Use Qr Codes

I see the same mistakes time and time again, a fresh new eye popping qr code using our nifty qr code generator to put into advertising and then when someone scans it… the FAIL happens. I don’t mean the qr code failed to deliver, I mean the destination has failed miserably (NOT being mobile optimized!).

When someone scans a qr code they expect to see something good, not to be given the run around or have to navigate through a eye soaring non-mobile optimized website (huge mistake!) where they will quickly lose interest and bounce on out. A qrcode must have a purpose or else it’s just a waste of time.  Having said that…

Most Effective Ways to Use QR Codes:

Mobile Optimized Website – that will capture leads or entice the visitor with a sale or coupon and of course, get them to CALL your business for an appointment, to make a reservations, etc.

Virtual Business Card – this can be used just like a paper business card, but the cool part is that most smartphone will automatically save all this data so you don’t have to go digging for it. Name, email, phone number, address, etc.

Geo-Location (Map) – All smartphones have a real-time mapping system in place, for example mobile Google Maps. Have an event you want people to attend? Just input the address data into the qr code and the smartphones GPS map will guide you there with ease.

Text and Images – send the qr code to any URL, this can be limitless. Or just have a note of “branding” poem you would like to display, use the qr code to get the message across.

Videos – most video website like YouTube are mobile optimized and ready to go.  Depending on your business you can send folks direct tot he video to promote your business.  New movies and TV show production companies are starting to take note of this by uploading their movie trailers so you can watch them right on your phone.

Scan these QR Codes for examples:

And those are just a few, so many ways and multiple variables to use these qr codes effectively that a lot of people do not take into consideration.  Of course educating he public on HOW to use these qr codes is another challenge, I really am surprised at how many people don’t get it.

If you would like to get rolling on optimizing your websites for mobile, then visit our sponsors as they are offering a special right now on mobile websites.  With that you get a full mobile optimized website that is lightning fast and serves multiple purposes for lead generation, branding, special offers, and more.  Contact them for more information.

Don’t let the massive opportunities of QR codes slip through your fingers because it seems to confusing. Get it done right and grow your business.

How To Make A QR Code

Qr Codes

Making a QR code is easy, making it effective for your promotion can take a little more thought.

First, decide on what URL you want to promote, is is mobile friendly? If it is a website you own, you may want to seek an expert (expensive!) who can render a mobile version so your offer gets maximum exposure. Have a coupon too small or grainy and you got a major fail.

Go to our QR code generator page and fill in your details, then grab your code from your email. Test it out on your smartphone to make sure the color matching works. Usually once your phone’s camera comes within contact of the QR code it links up immediately.

I know for sure that on an iPhone it will find a QR code a mile away and snatch it. I use the “i-nigma” app which I got free in the Apple app store. It works, use it. No iPhone? Then you may download the i-nigma app here for your smartphone.

Then you may use your custom QR code as you wish. Print it on flyers, business cards, stickers, etc. Or you may go to our QR Rage store (easiest option) and pick what items you would like to have your QR code printed on.  Save yourself the hassle of messing it up and having your printer suck the life out of your expensive ink cartridges in the process.

These QR codes go viral fast! No spammy email, no one trying to find your website in search engines, hence no hassle for you. The customers and prospects literally come to you! Have a good offer and you got gold. I recently observed some punk kid with a pink QR code sticker on the bottom of his skateboard that linked to his Facebook wall. He was surrounded by girls and getting all their attention! Smart fella…

The uses for QR codes are infinite. They are increasing in popularity as technology has caught up. There was a study done (forgot where) where they tested “clicks vs QR code hits” and the result was like an avalanche, QR code 4TW!

QR Code Generator Spices Up Life

Do you feel left out because you don’t have your own QR code? If you have asked yourself, “what are QR codes?” and how can they benefit me, then read on…

What is a QR Code?
Developed in Japan for Toyota years ago, 2D QR codes were used to track parts for their cars and trucks. They compact any information within “modules” and are unique to each, no 2 are the same.

These QR codes can be viewed with a qr code scanner found in most of today’s smart phones, or there is an app for it, just browse your networks store online as most are free.

For readability the rule is simple, dark code, light background.  The usual black & white is the standard and looks like some mutated crossword puzzle. But with this free QR code generator you can customize your own colors to match your companies logo or team colors, etc. Even the borders are customizable where you can put any text (website URL, Like Me, follow me, etc).

You can test it right away to make sure it works once you receive it in your email, then use it at will. Be sure to visit our QR store to find unique ways to use your new QR code in print on t-shirts, mugs, hats, decals, bumper stickers, etc.

QR codes are used to link directly to any URL, email, text, or online resume via mobile smart phones that have a QR scanner. They are free, so get one if you do not have one yet. Watch these how to QR code videos to see exactly how it’s done.

QR codes ARE convenience in your hand! If you scan a qr code that leads to a non-mobile website (not optimized for smartphones), you can tap the text once and it will zoom in – the theme is not a tradition mobile theme, but gets the job done because people are too lazy or busy to type in a URL or “text 1234″ to anything. Too many steps to take. QR codes are a one-step solution for promoting. Just point your phone’s camera at one, and it will automatically take you to it’s destination, which can be a coupon or a website with important info.  The new wave in user engagement.

These QR codes are simple, easy, and extremely effective for driving business or getting word out about your cause or fundraiser. You could also use them as the ultimate ice-breaker when trying to meet people.
